Mildred Skirt Workshop - Elastic Waist Beginner

Beginner Garment Sewing | 4 hours 

In this hands on class you'll sew an easy and versatile elastic waist skirt using a Heather Case studio-designed pattern. This is an ideal beginner garment class for anyone who's comfortable using a sewing machine and ready to move beyond accessories and into clothing.

We'll walk through the full process together from choosing your size to laying out your fabric, how to read a simple pattern, to cutting, construction and finishing. You will leave with a finished skirt you can wear and the confidence to make it again at home.

This skirt is a versatile wardrobe staple with an easy, modern shape that works beautifully in linen, cotton or lightweight woven fabrics. This is a really great project for up-cycling an old sheet or some other non-stretch vintage fabric! 

This beginner-friendly pattern offers plenty of room for personalization - choose between side insert pockets or front patch pockets and customize the length to make it truly your own.
