Learn how to fix the clothes you already own starting with the one repair everyone asks for: Pant Hemming!

This hands-on sewing class is designed to teach practical, everyday clothing repairs that will save you time and money. We will focus on the most common fixes people actually need, using real garments and straight forward techniques you can use again and again.

Skill Level: Beginner/Confident Beginner. You should feel comfortable operating a sewing machine and sewing a straight line.

What You'll Learn:

  • how to hem pants properly (measuring, marking and finishing)
  • how to sew buttons properly 
  • how to fix seams and small tears
  • simple patching techniques for worn or damaged areas

What To Expect:

  • a small group supportive environment
  • step-by-step demonstrations followed by hands-on practice

What To Bring:

  • Bring your own garments. Please bring 1-3 garments you'd like to repair during the class.
  • your sewing machine (please let me know ahead of time if you need one to use)
  • your sewing tools 

Great Options Include:

  • pants or jeans that need hemming (topstitch only please - blind hems are for another class)
  • garments with missing or loose buttons
  • jeans with small holes or worn areas
  • shirts, pants or dresses where the seam has popped open

Please Avoid Bringing:

  • garments needing major repair or resizing
  • full zipper replacements
  • very delicate fabrics (silk, chiffon)
  • stretch knits if you're new to sewing
